An orchestra of pipes, drums and cymbals in a single case — driven by a perforated music roll.
No record, no recording — the instruments play themselves.
From a music box small enough for a waistcoat pocket to an orchestrion taller than a person that replaces an entire ensemble: every work stores its music on a cylinder, a disc or a perforated roll — and still sounds it today.

The mechanical percussion
Felt beaters, driven by the music roll, strike the bass drum — giving the orchestrion its beat and its weight.
Beaded ornament
Ornately beaded art nouveau lamps crown the showpiece instruments of the turn of the century.
Our instruments simply have to be experienced live.
That is why the museum can only be visited as part of a guided tour. In about 45 minutes a wide selection of mechanical musical instruments is played and explained — in nine languages.
